The study evaluated the effectiveness of the Fitterfly Diabetes program in managing weight in individuals with diabetes using antidiabetic medications associated with weight gain or weight loss. Deidentified data from 79 participants with type 2 diabetes was analyzed. After 90 days, participants using medications associated with weight loss experienced reductions in HbA1c (0.5%), weight (3.5kg), and waist circumference (5cm). Similarly, participants using medications associated with weight gain also showed reductions in these parameters. The study concluded that the program resulted in significant weight loss and improved glycemic control regardless of the effect of antidiabetic medications on weight. Individuals with diabetes looking to lose weight may benefit from such programs.
