It is important to assess an individual’s stress levels so that a highly customized diabetes management program can be designed. This study has evaluated the level of distress among Indians diagnosed with Type 2 DM through the Diabefly platform. 130 participants were analyzed using Diabetes Distress Scale and found that 55% had high diabetes distress, 60% had high emotional burden of diabetes, 58% had high regimen distress, 23% had high interpersonal distress and 31% had high physician distress. Therefore, in order to manage the diabetes effectively it is important to equally consider emotional and mental well-being as compared to physical health of people with diabetes.
